Gorr the God Butcher is a Marvel Comics character who first appeared in Thor: God of Thunder #2 (September 2013), created by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic. He is a powerful alien being who comes to Earth in order to kill all the gods, both Asgardian and otherwise.

Gorr was born on an unnamed alien planet which was in a state of constant war. One day, Gorr’s parents were killed by a group of aliens known as the Godbomb. This event scarred Gorr emotionally, and he became obsessed with finding and killing the beings responsible for the death of his parents.

Gorr eventually tracked down the Godbomb to Earth, where they were masquerading as gods. He then proceed to slaughter them all, along with any other gods he could find. This led to him earning the nickname “The God Butcher”.
