Mentioned in my previous post, I finally got around to reading Clive Cussler’s Flood Tide. The Dirk Pitt adventure series is one of my favorites, and this book did not disappoint.

Flood Tide follows Pitt as he tries to stop a group of eco-terrorists from destroying New York City. The group, led by a woman named Veronica Sharkey, has a plan to flood the city by melting the polar ice caps. This would not only destroy New York, but also cause easily preventable global flooding that would devastate coastal cities around the world.

Pitt, as always, is up for the challenge. He enlists the help of his friend Al Giordino and together they race against time to stop Sharkey and her team. Along the way, they encounter treacherous villains, natural disasters, and even a Russian submarine.

As with all of Cussler’s books, Flood Tide is a page-turner. I could not put it down! The action is non-stop and the plot is fascinating. If you’re a fan of Dirk Pitt, or of thrillers in general, I highly recommend this book.
